As I was doing my daily exercise on the river this morning, I noticed that a baby fawn from our Riverbank had made a new friend. It reminded me that when we are first born, we have not been taught who to be friends with. Our stigma's and social attitudes are learned as we grow up. Wouldn't it be nice if we could prevent the stigma against mental illness to be learned? I have developed an Iris Units of Study Learning Resource for grades 4-6 which I feel does help to prevent stigma and increases mental health literacy.
